Rye girls soccer’s 27-game unbeaten streak has been put to the test early this season, but the Garnets may not have a tougher two-game stretch than the one they just survived.

Trailing by a goal in the final minute Wednesday at Albertus Magnus, junior Hannah Jachman scored an equalizer to salvage a 2-2 tie against the defending Class AA state champions.

The Garnets trailed by two goals in the second half before senior co-captain Eleanor Pandl assisted Rye’s first score, off the foot of junior Ryann O’Donnell.

The Falcons were on the verge of holding on for a 2-1 victory, but a foul just outside the box gave Rye one last shot at a draw. Just as they did all last season, the Garnets made the most of the opportunity.

With 33 seconds left on the clock, Jachman drove home the game-tying score.

In Rye’s previous game Saturday, senior Charlotte Keenan scored a game-winner with 15 seconds left against Class AAA contender Shenendehowa.

Last year, Rye played to a scoreless draw in three of their first six games before rattling off 18 straight outright victories. An undefeated season is never an assumption, but with two tough tests already behind them in 2026, the Garnets’ win streak may be around for the long haul.

Next up is a home game at 5 p.m. Monday against Arlington.
