Rye girls soccer’s unbeaten streak stands at an astounding 28 games, but two results this season came down to the final minute.

Monday at Arlington, Charlotte Keenan set the tone for the Garnets in the opening 30 seconds.

The senior captain put Rye on the board shortly after the game kicked off, and the Garnets beat a Class AAA opponent 3-1 on the road.

Not long after Keenan’s goal, the Admirals tied the score in the fourth minute. Sophomore Harkin Brown put Rye back ahead 2-1 in the 20th minute, a score that held until after halftime.

Midway through the second half, Brown scored again on a breakaway for a decisive two-goal margin.

Rye (3-0-1), the undefeated Class A state champs in 2025, opened its title defense away from home, playing several teams from higher classes. The Garnets have a fifth straight road game Friday at Harrison before the home-opener Sept. 22 against Pelham.
