Rye High School Alumna and Grandmother of 7 Passes Away

Linda Olmstead is survived by her two sons and three sisters.

Linda Mayers Black Olmstead of Port Chester, N.Y., passed away on Jan. 3, 2026.

Linda was the beloved daughter of Annabelle Mayers, of Hamden, Conn., and the late Robert A. Mayers, MD.

She was predeceased by her second husband, Christopher Olmstead.

Linda is survived by her former husband, Gary Black, of Rye; and her two sons, Jason Black (Meredith), of Katonah, N.Y., and Sean Black (Mary), of Rye. She had seven wonderful grandchildren: Adelaide, Bennett, Celia, Lily, Kathryn, Annie, and Nora. Linda is also survived by three loving sisters: Susan Tupper, of Lake Bluff, Ill., Terri Corsa, of Larchmont, N.Y., and Nancy Mayers Furnas, of Hamden, Conn.; as well as nieces and nephews and close friends.

Linda was a graduate of Rye High School.

May she finally rest in peace.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, at Graham Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Church of the Resurrection.
