Richard Littlejohn, also known as “Ricky” while growing up in Rye, passed on into eternity after a brave and courageous battle with cancer on Jan. 28, 2026.
Richard was born on Oct. 26, 1963, in Atlanta. He was adopted by his grandparents, Richard and Virginia Littlejohn, when his mother, their daughter, sadly passed away when he was about one year old.
Richard moved to Rye when he was eight years old to live with his Aunt Carol and Uncle Peter Norton. There, he lived in Indian Village and attended Rye City schools, graduating from Rye High School in 1982.
Richard attended Quinnipiac University and received a bachelor’s degree in media and radio communications. After college, he worked as a radio engineer at the esteemed Westchester radio station WVOX/WVIP.
On July 9, 2016, he married Kathleen Sinacore, and they settled into New York City life in Brooklyn.
Richard is survived by his wife, Kathleen; step-daughters, Karen and Erica; and his Uncle Peter. He was predeceased by his Aunt Carol. He had no siblings.
A memorial celebration of Richard’s wonderful life will be held at 11 a.m. on March 7, 2026, at Rye Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow.
