The 2024 Rye Lions Club’s James A. and Marian Shea Community Service Award is being given to Kelly Jancski, the club announced.
The award was established in 2003 to recognize someone who lives or works in the Rye community and has contributed to enhancing the lives of its citizens by volunteering services of an outstanding nature.
Jancski is an active member of the Wainright House board of directors, where she has worked on organizing events such as hoedowns, jazz brunches, book clubs, and book launches as well as overseeing the redesign of the meditation garden and the rehabilitation of Fonrose House. She is also active in Rye Boy Scout Troop 2 and the Parent Organization for the Rye High School Class of 2024, not
only advising students, but helping parents navigate the often-complex process of applying to college and for financial aid.
She is to receive the award at the Lions’ 2024 Community Award Donner Nov. 14 at Whitby Castle.
