Ida Lorenzetti passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2025. Born on March 16, 1936, Ida lived her 89 years with a warm smile for all and a giving, generous heart for her family and friends.

Ida is preceded by her husband of 36 years, Vigilio (Virgil); her son, Louis; and her five siblings, Tom, Mike, Knute, Jerry, and Connie.

Whether family or friend, everyone was welcome at Aunt Ida’s. Ida grew up in Rye and went to school there before later moving to Port Chester. She and Virgil moved to Rye in 1969, where they were surrounded by the very best neighbors.

Ida helped Virgil with his business, Port Chester Grinding Service. She also ran the kitchen for several years at Midland School in Rye, where she made many cherished friends and was famous for her salad and the thickest peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Ida was also preceded by her two lifelong friends, Mary and Roe. They loved walking the boardwalk at Playland to Oakland Beach.

It was Ida’s family who sustained her and she them. She was always looking on the bright side, and when you just needed someone to say, “Come on in,” that’s where you went. Her home was warm and always welcoming. She told the funniest stories and was the best listener. Ida always said, “We have the best family!”

Ida is survived by her beloved daughter, Lisa, whom she laughed with every day up until her last. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Sue; her grandson, Louis, and his wife, Nicole; her great-granddaughter, Sophia; as well as many nieces, nephews, and their families who all loved her. She will be truly missed.

The family received friends at the Graham Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026.
