The Rye High School girls volleyball team dropped a set of quarterfinal matches against Byram Hills High School earlier this week to end their strong season.
They lost the set, 0-3, away at Byram Hills on Nov. 4. Heading into the playoffs, the netters were 13-6.
Head coach Geri Jones, who set a goal earlier this year of playing fearlessly, said she had hoped to see more teams in the postseason.
“The final game was disappointing for everyone; we had hopes that we would go further,” she said.
But, Jones added, the Garnets weren’t without collective success this year.
“I am so proud of this team,” she said. “They worked so hard this season to not only improve their skills as volleyball players, but to come together and play as a team.”
