The Rye Police Department announced Wednesday the promotion of Lansing Hinrichs to the rank of lieutenant.
Hinrichs joined Rye PD in January 2014 and has served in numerous assignments over the past 12 years, including the patrol division, traffic unit, marine unit, and, most recently, as the special operations supervisor.
“Serving the City of Rye has been one of the greatest privileges of my career,” Hinrichs said. “I am truly honored by this promotion and grateful for the opportunity to continue serving this community and the members of the Rye Police Department.”
The department said Hinrichs has been integral in advancing many of the technology initiatives currently being used by Rye police.
As lieutenant, Hinrichs will command the operational and investigative support division.
