The Rye City School District wants you — if you’re interested in serving on one of three school district committees.

Members are being sought for the Facilities Committee, the Audit Committee, and the Technology Committee.

Each group comprises school district reps, board of education members and local citizens, meets two to three times a year, and makes evaluations and recommendations to the school board on their specific topics.

The Facilities Committee covers the district’s physical plant, tackling issues of health and safety, and design. This year the group will also review work on the girls’ softball field.

The Audit Committee reviews audit reports and management’s response to those audits.

The Technology Committee reviews the district’s technology plan, evaluates and makes recommendation for potential technology, recommends professional development for teachers, and is expected to “initiate a cohesive vision” for tech in the district, according to the district’s description.

To apply for any of these committees, go to the district’s web site, www.ryeshools.org, and find the application in the News and Updates section. Either email it to Sarah Derman at derman.sarah@ryeschools.org or mail it to her attention c/o Rye City School District, 555 Theodore Fremd Ave., Suite B-101, Rye, NY 10580.

Application deadline for all committees is Oct. 15.
