I had just started working at U.S. Trust Company in 1988.
It was a slow day, and I was almost hit by a football that was being tossed across the desks. Rich stopped the football toss and came over and shook my hand, welcoming me to the department. The other guys kept playing.
From then on, he always said, “Hello Jane” in the hallway. I thought he was nice (and cute).
I joined the company softball team in the bank league and who was at the field, but Rich. It took about eight months of pleasantries for Rich to ask me out. The day after our first date, I could not remember his name when I was taking around a new employee. After that we continued to find things in common: sports and being outside.
We have been together for 32 years and are two children greater!
