Rye Woman Dies in I-95 Crash in Greenwich

A Rye woman died in a three-car crash Monday on I-95 in Greenwich, Connecticut State Police said.

Jill Newmark Haskel, 89, 2305 Theall Road, was driving southbound on I-95 at around 4:45 p.m. when she rear-ended another vehicle and spun out of control just south of Exit 3. Her Subaru Crosstrek flipped onto its passenger side and struck another vehicle, then remained on its side until it came to a stop.

Haskel was seriously injured and was taken by Greenwich Emergency Medical Services to Greenwich Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The passengers of the other two vehicles were uninjured.
