The Rye Y team returned from the New York State YMCA Swimming Championships at Ithaca College with several awards. “We are smaller than in past years, but the team performed just great,” said Coach Kate Tiedemann. “We had many swimmers drop times and many personal best swims.”
Ari Lemish won the State Championship in the 8 and under boys 25-yard breaststroke and Talya Appelbaum and Ava Iannetta were top three finishers. Other top 16 finalists were: Lilly Appelbaum, Dillon Robinson, Tate Robinson, Abigayle Bleil, Carolina Doherty, Julia Hodys, Isabel Hurley, Satvik Kukreti, James Laverty, Abigail Posner, Jack Richardson, Julia Short and Cooper Wasserman.
