The Rye Y Wave Ryeders ended a strong season by clinching victories at the YMCA State Championships held recently in East Meadow, N.Y.
The team won championships in two divisions, both the girls 8-and-under division and the boys 10-and-under division. Overall, they secured sixth place overall among 30 teams, winning two individual championships and two relay championships.
Taylor Newblatt and Charlie Martin were individual state champions. Bea Martin, Taylor Newblatt, Vanessa Guazzo, Auden Whelan, and Audrey Gallego were 8 and under free-medley relay state champions. And Luca Miraglia, Charlie Martin, Parker Plauche, and Charlie Graham were 10 and under boys free-medley relay state champions.
