Two recent Sacred Heart Greenwich graduates have been chosen by the Foundation of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences as finalists for a National Student Emmy.
Emily Sedgwick ’24 and Devan Jordan ’24, were chosen for their documentary “Upon Return,” an in-depth interview with ABC journalist Bob Woodruff in which he discusses his experience reporting on the Iraq war in 2006 and the creation his foundation, “The Bob Woodruff Foundation,” which aids veterans.
Sedgewick and Jordan made the documentary in 2022 as part of the school’s Real World Filmmaking class. They competed in a field of about 2,000 entries. The winners are to be announced on Nov. 21.
Their nomination is the first time in 20 years that students from Sacred Heart Greenwich have made it this far in the competition. The previous nominee, Erica Jorgenson, ’24, won the Emmy. She now works as an executive producer for NBC news in Boston.
