Javelin isn’t part of the New York state track and field festivities, so Rye senior Rocklan Boisseau ended his high school career by leaving his mark at the national level.
Boisseau’s 195-foot throw qualified him for the finals of the New Balance Nationals on June 22 at the University of Pennsylvania. The all-league and all-county thrower finished eighth out of 41 throwers at nationals.
The senior broke his older brother Dalton’s school record last season, then topped his own record this year with a throw of 196 feet, 10 inches. He also had the longest throw among all New York high schoolers in 2025 by more than 30 feet, which was also the fourth-longest throw in state history.
Boisseau will attend Indiana University next year, where Dalton, a 2023 Rye graduate, has excelled as a member of the Hoosiers’ track and field team.
