Spas are sprouting up everywhere because just about everyone wants to look and feel better. There’s no more fitting cure for the doldrums than a deep cleansing facial or a therapeutic massage. The spa services around town promote health, beauty, and a little tranquility, too.
Judith Polatsek of Judith’s Skin Care Institute said it best: “Springtime is a time for renewal. After hibernating all winter, we all need rehydration and facials.”
Her European facial repairs skin damage and accelerates the production of skin cells for a radiant look. She also offers effective acne treatments and electrolysis. In the same cozy location, Doris Aragon offers waxing, manicures and pedicures. 967-2752
Over at Blush, Ana Sobalvarro is offering a Decléor facial and recommends the full Decléor skin regimen. Their hydrafloral moisturizer, aroma balm and other products are available at the beauty bar. Also available are the Glo-Therapeutic deep cleansing and teen acne facials, eyebrow shaping, and Brazilian waxing.
Blush’s Thymes soothing lotions and bath salts relax the muscles, while Kat Burki paraben-free, all-natural products are just what the doctor ordered for sensitive skin. You can also pick up a few fragrant votives to relax with at home. 921-2980
In preparation for Mother’s Day, Advanced Laser and Medical Spa of Ryeis offering one free “Real Housewives” illuminating HydraFacial and one free rejuvenating peel with a purchase of a HydraFacial package. This facial, a shop exclusive, combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and moisturizing.
Medical Director Micheline Giovani is also offering one free area of Botox with the purchase of two syringes of Juvederm. Advanced Laser’s new FDA-approved Ultherapy for skin lifting and tightening of the face and neck produces great results, without surgery or needles. Complimentary consultations are available. 921-2506
In addition to award-winning facials, Euro Laser Medical Spa is introducing the innovative PCA Body Peel to Rye. Owner Liz Di Bartolo says it gives your body a glow, improving the damaging effects of the sun on arms, legs, back, chest, hands, and feet. The treatment offers deep exfoliation, improves skin tone, and lightens discoloration.
For Mother’s Day, the spa is featuring a discounted laser hair removal package for women’s underarms, legs, and bikinis, as well as men’s chests and backs. In addition, for truly restorative therapeutic massage and reflexology, this is the spa. 921-3265
Benefit is the instant beauty hotspot in town that’s not just about make-up application. Licensed aestheticians are always on hand to shape brows or lengthen lashes. Other specialties include facial, body, and Brazilian waxing, as well as customized brow and lash tinting. Benefit also takes care of one’s tanning needs without the UVA rays. Their airbrush tanning utilizes custom shades and takes only minutes to apply. 925-0470
The new skincare shop in town, Bluemercury has a myriad of beauty product lines taking up what used to be the two storefronts of Rags. It also offers a wide range of spa services. Facials include a 50-minute “fusion facial” that includes a glycolic peel and vitamin oxygen, as well as a 30-minute “fast blast” version. Other services available are microdermabrasion, face and body waxing, as well as brow styling. 921-1600
B Spa Bar, which has other locations in New York City, offers the latest in skincare. Owner Diana Seo’s Yoga Beauty facial works on acupressure points to get those dormant face muscles working. The LED Photo Light Therapy facial stimulates the production of collagen and elastin to nourish skin cells.
The spa’s diamond microdermabrasion is for optimum skin resurfacing. Their organic sugaring removes hair better than waxing and is more long- lasting. Other services include massage and spray tanning. There is free parking in the back. 921-0880
New on north Purchase Street is Skin N.Y. Westchester, a comprehensive beauty and age management center. Owner Julie Pipolo works closely with Park Avenue korean plastic surgery Center Director Scott Wells on a line of revitalizing skincare products, from cleansers to collagen powders. Among the unique treatments she offers are dermaplaning, which removes unwanted “peach fuzz,” and skin stamping, a powerful anti-aging treatment for sun-damaged skin.
Skin N.Y. offers a variety of facials and peels, as well as eyebrow shaping and tinting. All services performed by appointment only. 213-5724
