Congratulations to Claire Furio, School of the Holy Child Class of ’18, who was named the grand prize winner of the 18th District Congressional Art Competition for Athenova, her acrylic painting on canvas.
It is the second consecutive year Claire’s artwork has been recognized among middle and high school students.
“Claire’s dedication to developing her artistic practice has helped her art take on new levels of complexity,” said Visual Arts teacher Shannon Duggan.
Athenova will hang in the U.S. Capitol building for the 2015-2016 school year, and Claire and her family have been invited to Washington D.C. to view it.
