The girls, all fourth and fifth graders, chose the project at The Bird Homestead property after learning from troop leader Emily Tisdale that the homestead had a flooding problem between two of its properties.
Volunteers and two archaeologists gathered on Milton Road between the Rye Meeting House and the Bird Homestead to participate in the third and final phase of an archeological dig on the site of Voris’ homestead.
