The Rye bar was sold for more than $100,000 below its initial asking price.
All three candidates for mayor -- Josh Nathan, Bill Henderson and Rick McCabe -- voiced support for the changing allowable building height. 
The property traces its roots as a drinking establishment all the way back to the 1920s. Originally called Buggies and then The Little Club, The Pub was created by long-time proprietor James Finneran in 1982. 
While municipal standards recommend that communities update their master plan every decade, Rye has not produced a new plan since 1985.
Over the last few months, some consumers have shifted to buying individual eggs, informally called  “loosies,” or stopped buying eggs altogether. 
Light Up Rye!, as the program is called, is to feature a combination of lit spheres and fully wrapped trees in soft white, and is scheduled to be up before your turkey hits the table. The lights are to be on display until February and be illuminated during the daytime.
The Rye Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Compass Real Estate on a plan called “Light up Rye!” that will include wrapping trees along Purchase Street.
Purdy Avenue manages to pack in two dozen storefronts along its compact 550-foot span.
The Taste of Rye event showcases local eateries that agree to offer a drink and one appetizer to all patrons who have paid the $65 ticket price.
