Inside the conservatory, nearly 200 New York landmarks and 25 model trains wind through more than 1,000 plants and trees.
Rye Gives is led by 30 volunteers who organize programs, events, and initiatives throughout the year.
If you’re the Covino family of Harvest Moon Farm & Orchard in North Salem, you transform your orchard into a dazzling holiday wonderland filled with millions of twinkling lights and luminous creatures of every shape and size.
The idea for “Light Up Rye” was first floated in the summer of 2024 and quickly grew beyond expectations.
Buckets of candy appeared under a giant inflatable rainbow as a Wizard of Oz scene emerged all down the block.
Rye kids painted more than 400 windows as part of the city’s annual Halloween window painting contest on Oct. 20, marking the 72nd year of the spooky tradition.
Fire trucks escorted Santa around Rye to holiday music as well as lights and sirens. The motorcade stopped at schools, in neighborhoods, and at landmarks around the city, greeting families and handing out goodie bags.
Light Up Rye!, as the program is called, is to feature a combination of lit spheres and fully wrapped trees in soft white, and is scheduled to be up before your turkey hits the table. The lights are to be on display until February and be illuminated during the daytime.
