Rye consumers should individually decide whether and how they want to support renewable energy efforts, not their local elected officials.
As an RCDS alum, I remember many times I would spend too much time on my phone during free periods and be forced to stay up late finishing my work. But, over time, I developed healthier habits and became more responsible.
Opting out of Westchester Power simply because it costs more is not giving renewable energy the fair chance it needs to eventually bring prices down.
For the Rye City Council to make the financial decision to change my electric power supplier, I find appalling and disgraceful.
