Anderson traces her roots in civic engagement back to her mother, who kept her politically aware from a young age.
City Council candidates James Ward, Amy Kesavan, and Marion Anderson each rang up 19 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Westchester County Board of Elections.
Anderson has chosen to have the Rye Democratic Committee manage her campaign efforts, breaking from the rest of the slate.
The three City Council candidates join Josh Nathan, who announced his campaign for mayor last week.
