Michael Burke has agreed to a three-year contract to run the district. He replaces outgoing Superintendent Eric Lutinksi, who is set to retire on June 30.
The survey will be conducted by Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA), the search firm hired by the Board of Education. Responses to the survey will be anonymous and the survey will be available in English, Spanish, and Japanese.

The decision is expected to become official at Tuesday's city Board of Education meeting, where Byrne will formally tender his resignation for the purpose of retirement.
