Rye consumers should individually decide whether and how they want to support renewable energy efforts, not their local elected officials.
Opting out of Westchester Power simply because it costs more is not giving renewable energy the fair chance it needs to eventually bring prices down.
For the Rye City Council to make the financial decision to change my electric power supplier, I find appalling and disgraceful.
However, looking at the effectiveness, cost, and transparency of the Westchester Power scheme, it’s fair to be skeptical about whether this specific effort warrants public support.
