Rye Arts Center Executive Director with the artists, Carol Douglas and Anne de Villeméjane, and board member Kicki Storm, who curated the show.
March may come in like a lion, but it’s the month we celebrate lionesses. In recognition of Women’s History Month, The Rye Arts Center organized a new exhibit, “Censored and Poetic”, which features the work of two roaringly good women, painter Carol Douglas and sculptor Anne de Villeméjane. They portray the feminine form and spirit on canvas and in bronze, crystal, and cement.
If you missed the March 10 reception and artists’ talk, log on to ryeartscenter.org and watch the video. “Censored and Poetic” runs through April 2.
