Tri-ath-openeerSundays aren’t for sleeping if you’re a super athlete and it’s the day of the Jarden Westchester Triathlon.On September 21, over 1,500 athletes, from weekend warriors to the elite, were registered for the race. It starts with a .9-mile swim in the Sound, followed by a 25-mile bike ride in and around Rye, and ends with a 6.2-mile run.

The first to cross the finish line at Rye Town Park was Men’s overall winner David Morris with a time of 02:07:20. Amy Farrell was the top female participant, who finished in 02:15:31.
