Hoping to create “Days You’ll Remember,” the Rye Youth Council announced its first Benefit Concert
Hoping to create “Days You’ll Remember,” the Rye Youth Council announced its first Benefit Concert, featuring the alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs, at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on November 20. Tickets are now on sale. Proceeds will support the social-emotional learning programs and services offered by the Rye Youth Council to the children and families in our community.
The evening’s festivities will begin at 7 with a pre-concert party complete with open bar, food, and a live and silent auction. The Maniacs will take the stage around 9. Dancing is strongly encouraged!
Benefit Co-Chairs Julie Anderson, Angie Gasparro and Lisa Hogan Luthringer are looking forward to a great event. “We felt it was time to shake things up a bit. We are hoping to reach some younger parents, and to introduce them to the great work that our youth advocates are doing in the schools,” says Lisa Luthringer.
The concert will replace the traditional RYC fundraiser, the annual MVP (honoring Rye’s Most Valuable People) Gala, usually held in January. Board President Lisa Dominici Faries emphasizes that the beloved Gala is sure to return in the future. “It’s fun to try something new. I am so grateful to the benefit committee for all the hard work they have already put into planning this event. It’s going to be a fantastic evening – better get your tickets soon!”
