In celebration of its expanded stewardship of the Jay estate, the Jay Heritage Center received a generous year-end gift of 5,000 self-naturalizing daffodil bulbs. The mix, called “Golden Legacy,” will evoke the Dutch heritage of the Jays and Van Nordens who lived at the historic property.
The wall along 210 Boston Post Road already receives plenty of sun and drains, making it a suitable site. Volunteers braved the rain and mud on December 7 to lay out the bulbs, which should burst forth just in time for Earth Day as well as a daffodil show hosted by the Little Garden Club of Rye.
