Over 150 guests gathered at Apawamis Club October 6 for a fabulous luncheon and lecture to celebrate the launch of design guru Eddie Ross’ first book, “Modern Mix: Curating Personal Style with Chic and Accessible Finds.” Sometimes referred to as the “younger, hipper, male version of Martha Stewart,” Ross, who grew up in Greenwich, dazzled the crowd as he shared his insider secrets on creating exciting interiors and stylish parties without breaking the bank.
Formerly of House Beautiful, Martha Stewart Living, and The Food Network, Ross is currently the East Coast Editor at Better Homes & Gardens. In his new book, Ross shares his passion for scouring flea markets, consignment shops, and estate sales across the country in search of vintage treasures. He also shares tools, techniques, and products to restore these items to their former glory.
Ross, who is fearless with color, recommends mixing highs and lows, pairing “Target with Tiffany” and “combining different colors, patterns and styles to infuse your home with soul.” For example, he loves mixing different monogrammed silver pieces with more modern Lucite pieces to create a fresh take on a traditional table setting.
This stylish event was sponsored by Elizabeth Moyer (www.prettypinktulips.com), Nest Inspired Home, Stefan Radtke Photography, and J. McLaughlin. To purchase a copy of “Modern Mix,” stop by Nest Inspired Home on Purchase Street.
