Over the Fourth of July weekend, Indian Village and Ridgewood Drive neighbors put on a dazzling display of softball at Rye Recreation. It was North v South in a hotly contested game.
Evan McCordick pitched valiantly for the South, but was no match for the steady pitching of veteran Hunter Baldwin firing for the North. The left side of North’s infield was manned by Greg Ingrassia and Keith Coyne, who made several amazing plays on balls tomahawked their way.
Reggie Lang, captain for the South, stacked his team with former college athletes Jack Barry, Toby King, and Brian and Craig Mattison. Mike Walsh, who just moved to Mohawk Street, led the charge to power the North with five RBI in a 9-6 victory.
Everyone gathered afterwards for a well-deserved picnic.
