Comedian-actor Tracy Morgan walked the aisles of local business Sportech recently as the store became the backdrop for a new NBC show called “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins.”
Produced by Tina Fey along with her team from “30 Rock,” the show is slated to premiere on NBC in early 2026. For one day, Sportech became “Prong’s Sporting Goods” as production crews, camera operators, and actors took over the store from about 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., said Sportech owner Mel Siegel.
Sportech is in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center in Rye Brook.
Sportech was contacted the week before filming to see if it would be appropriate for the filming. Soon thereafter the cast and crew arrived, location scouts brought the show’s director, set designers, and crew to prep for the shoot. Rye Brook and the shopping center issued permits for the production.
The show is filming at a studio in Yonkers, which is how producers came across Sportech as a potential off-site location. Siegel said the shoot was a one-off; the production will not be coming back, and the four-minute scene is to appear in the fifth episode of the show.
In addition to Morgan, the scene included SNL’s Heidi Gardner and Craig Robinson from “The Office.”
