A15 Melissa GriecoA few days before competing in her second Ironman Lake Placid triathlon, longtime Rye resident Melissa and her husband John were browsing along the main street shops looking for a souvenir to bring home to their rescue dog, Bruno. After finding a paltry selection of Ironman-themed items for pups, Melissa had an ah-ha moment, and the idea for Trihound.com was formed.

“Dogs are always at triathlons and marathons and I decided these four-legged spectators deserved their very own line of customized, branded endurance-themed gear,” said Melissa.

As a passionate animal lover, rescue advocate, and donor to many animal causes, Melissa decided that a main mission of Trihound, LLC should be supporting a local animal charity. They’ll donate 20 percent of all profits to the New Rochelle Humane Society.
