Runners, as well as their canine companions, hit the streets November 26 to burn off those Thanksgiving feasts at Rye Recreation’s 35th Annual Turkey Run. The day began with the Paws Walk, as humans and pooches paired to make their way through town. The one-mile fun run followed, and the 3.1- and 5.2-mile races concluded the day. Warm weather was the gravy on top of a spectacular scene.
Rye High’s cross country star, Taylor Love, won the 3.1-mile race in 16.19, while Lindsey Felling finished first among females at 19:49. Bobby Asher took home the top prize in the 5.2-mile event by clocking in at 27:52. Jennifer Harringan was the fastest female with a time of 35:27.
