Two people were killed Sunday on Interstate 95 in Port Chester after being struck by a tractor-trailer.

A preliminary investigation determined Kamla K. Singh, 72, and Andrew Sookdeo, 40, both of Richmond Hill, N.Y., were standing outside their vehicle following a prior minor collision when they were hit by the vehicle traveling in the right lane.

New York State Police in New Rochelle responded to the scene around 8:30 p.m. Sunday near mile marker 14.2 southbound on I-95.

State police said the tractor-trailer driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation. At this time, no charges are anticipated.
