Westchester County Police arrested and charged a pair of teenagers for a stabbing incident Wednesday at Westchester Community College in Valhalla.
Police charged an 18-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl with first-degree assault after the pair allegedly stabbed two victims at the college on Sept. 16.
The girl was arraigned at Greenburgh Town Court and is being held at the Woodfield Cottage juvenile detention facility in Valhalla. The boy was also scheduled to be arraigned at Greenburgh Town Court this morning.
Officials have not released the identities of the two suspects.
Two surviving victims, whose identities have also not been released, were taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center after the incident, according to police. One required surgery and is still hospitalized, while the other was treated at the center and released the same day.
Westchester County Police received “multiple” 911 calls reporting a fight that had turned violent at the college around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday. When police arrived on campus, they identified the two suspects and recovered a knife at the scene.
Officials transported the suspects to Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow, where medical staff treated their injuries. They both suffered lacerations, according to police, but “neither suffered a stab wound.”
The victims and suspects were all either current or former Westchester Community College students, police said.
By about 1:40 p.m. Wednesday the county assured “no other suspects are being sought and there is no continuing threat to the college community.”
Additional details about the altercation remain under investigation.
