After earning a B.A. with Honors in Comparative Literature from Oberlin College, Ms. Cole won a Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Guatemala.

 

She also received an M.A. in English Education from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is bilingual in Spanish. Ms. Cole comes to Rye from Brewster High School, where she served as a Leave Replacement English teacher, teaching an advanced 9th grade section and three Regents-level 10th grade sections.

 

 

Judy-DaytonJudith Dayton
Science
Ms. Dayton worked as an engineer at General Motors, Lockheed Martin, and Navistar International before becoming a teacher in 2002. She has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University and a B.S. in Education from Indiana University.

She comes to Rye from Croton-Harmon High School, where she taught Physics, AP Physics, Astronomy, Meteorology, and a class called “Going Green.” Before that, she taught Physics at Woodlands High School in Hartsdale.  

 

Danielle-DeCristoforo-Danielle DeCristoforo
Math
Prior to becoming a teacher, Ms. DeCristoforo was a systems engineer for Lockheed Martin. She has an M.S. in Education from St. John’s University, an M.S. in Systems Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Villanova University.

She comes to Rye from Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows, Queens, where she taught Integrated Algebra I, Geometry, Introduction to Engineering, and Money Management.

 

 

 

 

Anthony-FrabizzioAnthony Frabizzio
Science
Mr. Frabizzio has a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Manhattan College and a Master of Arts in English, with a concentration in Composition and Rhetoric, from Lehman College.

For the last four years, he has taught World and British Literature at Archbishop Stepinac High School in White Plains. He is also an Adjunct Professor in the Adult Education Department at Concordia College in Bronxville, where he helps adults improve their writing skills to meet undergraduate college requirements.

 

 

 
Daniel-FreemanDaniel Freeman
Social Studies/Special Education
After earning a Bachelor of Arts in History and Secondary Education from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., Mr. Freeman received an M.S. in Special Education, Grades 7-12, from City College of New York.

He comes to Rye from Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia, N.Y., where he taught AP European History and 9th-grade Geography. Prior to that, he was a Social Studies teacher and taught U.S. and World History to middle-grade students at Academy of Our Lady of Grace in Fairview, N.J.

 

 

 

 

Dana-MolloyDana Molloy
Science
Ms. Molloy received a B.S. in Physics from Towson University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Science Education at Lehman College. She comes to Rye from Hommocks Middle School in Mamaroneck, where she taught 6th- and 7th- grade science, including Ecology, Physics, and Chemistry, as well as microscope work and student-directed lab activities and projects.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Andres-SoltrenAndres Soltren
Latin
He received both his Master of Science in Teaching in Adolescent Education and Bachelor of Arts in English, with a Concentration in Latin, from Iona College. He was a Humanities Honor Scholar at Bucknell University.

Mr. Soltren comes to Rye with nine years of full-time teaching experience. Most recently, he taught Latin to 6th-, 7th-, and 8th-grade students at Albert Leonard and Isaac E. Young Middle schools in New Rochelle. Previously, he taught Classics and Latin at Believe Southside Charter High School in Williamsburg, N.Y., and Latin and English at Kennedy Catholic High School in Somers.

 

 

 

 

Middle School

Victoria-DossoVictoria Dosso
Math
Already a familiar face at the Middle School, Ms. Dosso served as a leave replacement last year. She joins the District now as a full-time Math teacher. Before coming to Rye, Ms. Dosso was a substitute teacher at Ardsley High School, and Honeoye Central School and York Central School, both in western New York.

Ms. Dosso has a Master of Science in Adolescent Mathematics from the Education Department at SUNY Geneseo and a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from SUNY Geneseo. She conducted her student teaching in Wyoming.

 

 

 

 

Milton School

Nicole-IppolitoNicole Ippolito
School Psychologist
Ms. Ippolito comes to Rye from the New York City Department of Education, where she was a full-time School Psychologist. Prior to working in Manhattan, she worked in Chicopee, Mass., as a School Psychologist in several elementary and early childhood schools.

She has an M.S. in School Psychology from Mercy College and a B.A. in Psychology from SUNY College at Old Westbury. She did her internship in the Port Chester School District.

 

 

 

 

Districtwide

Albert-MercadoAlbert Mercado
Physical Education
Mr. Mercado is a familiar face in the School District, having worked as a substitute Phys Ed teacher and Athletic Program Assistant last year. He now joins as a full-time Physical Education teacher. Before coming to Rye, he worked in the Pelham Union Free School District as a Leave Replacement Phys Ed Teacher and at the Carmel Central School District as a Teaching Assistant and a Substitute Teacher.

He was an Assistant Coach for the North Salem Central School District’s Varsity Boys and Girls Lacrosse teams, Head Coach for the Brewster Central School District’s Junior Varsity Wrestling Team, and Assistant Coach for the Brewster Girls’ Varsity Swim Team.

He has a Bachelor of Science in Education with a major in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. He is working to obtain his Masters of Professional Studies in Educational Leadership from Manhattanville College.

 

 

Alyssa-MontgomeryAlyssa Montgomery
Substitute Psychologist
She received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mount St. Mary’s College and a Master of Arts in School Psychology from Marist College.

Ms. Montgomery comes to Rye from the Katonah-Lewisboro School District, where she was the Chairperson of the Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE) and the Committee on Special Education. Previously, she was the 504 and CPSE Chairperson for the Dobbs Ferry Union Free School District and the School Psychologist for Springhurst Elementary School in Dobbs Ferry.

 

 

 

 

 

Julia-ChungJulia Chung
Interim Director of Special Ed and Pupil Personnel Services
Familiar to many in the District, Ms. Chung has served as the Assistant Director for Special Education since 2013. She came to Rye in 2008 as an Assistant Principal at Rye High School.

Ms. Chung began her career as a Math teacher in California, becoming a Math coach, Teacher Advisor, Lead Teacher Coordinator, and then Assistant Principal in the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has a Master’s in Educational Administration and Leadership from California State University Los Angeles and a Bachelor of Science in Math from the University of California at Irvine. Currently, she is working toward a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Manhattanville College.
