The Westchester Chamber Music Society will present “Frisson,” which features the best and brightest of classical music stars on Nov. 20 at 4 p.m. at Rye’s Congregation Emanu-El of Westchester, located at 2125 Westchester Ave.
Opening for the group will be The Blind Brook Chamber Music Ensemble, featuring students from Blind Brook High School, who will be coached by Frisson in a brief, mini-master class.
Frisson’s ensemble of eight musicians (strings, winds, and brass) plays rarely-heard masterworks from the chamber music repertoire. They will perform Handel-Halvorsen: “Duo for Violin and Cello,” Walter: “Octet in B-flat for Strings and Winds, Op. 7,” and Beethoven: “Septet in E-flat, Op. 20.”
The Blind Brook ensemble will perform Tchaikovsky’s “Danse des Mirlitons” from “The Nutcracker.”
The Westchester Chamber Music Society is partnering with school chamber music programs around the county and inviting them to perform a brief piece at the start of specific concerts.
