Rye’s City Council is considering a request from Apple Studios to film another episode of “Your Friends & Neighbors” this week in Rye. When the Apple TV+ show rolls back into town, it could be fresh off an Emmy win.
The second season of the show starring Jon Hamm and Amanda Peet is nominated for Outstanding Drama Series at the 78th annual Emmy Awards on Monday night.
Apple Studios plans to film driving scenes from 4-10 p.m. Thursday on Purchase Street. No road closures are expected, but the cast and crew will use a section of parking spaces in Car Park 4, the lot behind Aurora and the newly opened maman.

An annual Westchester County economic report released Monday said film and television production generated $1.85 billion of economic development for the county in 2025.
“We love to see Westchester County in the movies or in TV,” County Executive Ken Jenkins said Monday. “Shows like ‘Your Friends & Neighbors,’ ‘Severance,’ and ‘The Gilded Age.’ It’s not just for fun or a bragging point. It’s really big money.”
“Your Friends & Neighbors,” which used several county locations for filming in seasons 1 and 2, returned to Rye on June 23 for the production of season 3.
Jenkins said total jobs in the film industry increased by 86 percent in the county last year, and total employee earnings reached $535.6 million, including $262.2 million in direct earnings. Citing Monday’s annual report, Jenkins said the total fiscal benefit of the film industry in the county reached $12.3 million in 2025, a 62 percent increase over 2024.
“These results show what happens when the county makes a real commitment to welcoming the film and television industry,” Jenkins said. “We’re focused on making Westchester County easy to work in, streamlining permitting, coordinating across municipalities, and making sure productions can find everything they need right here in Westchester.”
“Your Friends & Neighbors” is set in the fictional town of Westmont — presumably based on Westchester, given that the show has also filmed in White Plains, New Rochelle, and Harrison. Jonathan Tropper, the show’s author, was born in the Bronx, but later moved to New Rochelle after getting married and having kids.
In the show, Hamm’s character, Andrew Cooper, resorts to robbing neighbors’ homes to support his lavish lifestyle.
Two of the nominees up against “Your Friends & Neighbors” for Outstanding Drama Series were also filmed in Westchester County: “The Diplomat” and “The Gilded Age.” Altogether, five TV series filmed in the county received 23 combined Emmy nominations.
“Our communities are film-friendly, the doors are open, and the industry is responding,” Jenkins said. “We’re looking forward to continuing to raise dollars here in Westchester County, so when we see those shows and Emmys given out, we’re really happy about that.”
