The Westchester County District Attorney’s office booked a Port Chester man last week for alleged child sexual abuse.
Officials arraigned 21-year-old Christopher Mendoza on Wednesday, June 24, on felony charges of promoting and possessing obscene sexual performances by a child.
According to the investigation, the defendant shared a video of a man sexually abusing a young female child between 7 and 10 years old on Snapchat last year. Mendoza also allegedly possessed a video earlier this year of a nude female in the same age range engaging in sexual activity.
“Our investigators work tirelessly … to identify and apprehend individuals like Christopher Mendoza who promote this obscene material,” said Westchester County District Attorney Susan Cacace. “We will continue to aggressively pursue anyone who attempts to exploit the most vulnerable members of society – our children.”
Mendoza “was released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings” after his arraignment last week.
The case was investigated by the Westchester County District Attorney’s office, the New York State Police, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the New York State Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
