Linking Handlebars is trying to make this holiday season a little brighter for children at Don Bosco in Port Chester. The goal is to donate 60 bicycles and helmets.
Started in 2011 by Rye High School students Jenna Cammisa, Bridget Salice, and Lucia and Cristiana Villani, their vision was to collect gently used bicycles and cash donations towards the purchase of new bikes. Last holiday season, the drive provided 32 bicycles and helmets to children aged 5 through 16 at Port Chester’s Carver Center.
You can help give a child a holiday lift by making the following suggested donations:
· $20 can provide one helmet;
· $30 can repair one bicycle;
· $75 can purchase a new child’s bicycle;
· $100 can purchase a new bicycle for a teen.
A donation of a gently used bicycle is also welcome.
Donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 75, Rye, NY 10580 or by visiting www.linkinghandlebars.org.
