The unbeatable Rye mother and daughter team of Judy Graham and Abbie Durkin own three retail shops, two in Larchmont (Clutch and Pink on Palmer) and one in the Rye Ridge Shopping Center. The duo moved Pink Deux, the one closer to home, to the other side of the plaza August 2. It has a fresh pink glow and a new name, Pink on the Plaza.
The reason for the move? “We wanted to be able to spread out our accessories,” explained Graham. And they had fun doing it, said Dawn Pike, who manages the shop. She’s assisted by Laurel Stevens, “who used to do windows”, Valerie Pierot, “assistant vice wrapper”, and her daughter Lizzie, who brings a youthful flair.
“All of our stores carry things we like,” emphasized Durkin.
Customers like their things, too. At their reopening, crowds of women walked in and happily shopped and chatted. They bought sun hats, shifts, well-priced everyday jewelry, beach totes, Perfect Fit T’s, and so much more.
“Business has been remarkably good in a tough economy,” Graham said.
The reason is their crew knows how to have a good time with customers and in between.
