Rye Country Day upped its season record to 4-3 in boys’ tennis on April 26, wiuth a decisive win over conference rival King School.
Sam Hearst, the Wildcats’ top-ranked singles player recovered from an opening 5-7 set to defeat Christian Dechapelles in the next two sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Rye Country Day co-captain Robert Levine topped Tom Rosenfeld in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.
Co-captain Nick Kemp lost to a tough King opponent, 6-2, 6-2; Paul Leake also lost, 6-1, 6-4.
The Wildcat doubles team of Jack Alpert and Adam Kozek blanked their King opponents, 6-0, 6-0. Also winning for the Wildcats in a competitive match was Nick Wilmer paired with Nikhil Bhatia, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3.
King won the other doubles match over Jonathan Faxon and Ryan Sobel, 6-4, 6-2.
