Zero Waste Day — Drop & Dash County Legislator Catherine Parker and City of Rye civic organizations are excited to announce Zero Waste Day — Drop and Dash, an event that will allow area residents to drop off unwanted household items for donation. Coinciding with Westchester County’s Household Recycling Drop Off Day at Rye Playland on November 3, donations will be accepted from 9 to 3, rain or shine. Participating organizations include Furniture Sharehouse, Habitat for Humanity, and Linking Handlebars. Organizers hope that Drop and Dash will become an annual event. “People are becoming more and more mindful of the importance of recycling,” says Sara Goddard, member of the Rye City Council and a founding member of the Rye Sustainability Committee. “This day is a win-win: it gives them a chance to help the environment, support worthy causes, and give many of their household items a new lease on life.” For more information, visit .
