A Dandy Derby

One hundred twenty-six runners dismissed the downpour and competed in the Rye YMCA’s Rye Derby 5K Run/Walk last Sunday.

Elizabeth Eickelberg, 29, of Mamaroneck won the Female Division in 18:03:13. Aimara Schube Barriola, 13, of West Harrison placed second with 19:40:06.

In the Male Open, 13-year-old phenom Nathan Lee of West Harrison bested the field in 17:18:44, with Benjamin Noble, 29, of New York City placing in 17:38:01.

Caitlin Thomas of Hastings-on-Hudson won the Female U14 race in 20:08:49; West Harrison’s Matteo Chiesara finished first in the Male race with a time of 18:30:24.
