A Fond Farewell
Gail Bowman was honored by members and staff of Manursing Island Club August 30 upon her retirement after 39 years working at the club.
Hurricanes and Nor’easters came and went, young members grew up and returned to the club with their own children, and there was Gail, greeting you at the door, like the North Star. Officially, she was the club’s comptroller, but year-after-year she was much more than that both for members and staff. She constantly had a good word to say, and, on the rare occasion when she didn’t, she just gave you a smile.
Gail started work at the club right out of college. Now she is headed home to Delaware, where she will settle into some well-earned time with her husband, family, and friends.
She was much-loved and will be missed.
