REALTOR’S ROW

All the Reische Stuff

Last year, when Susan Reische was asked to head up the Rye office of William Raveis, she was excited to have the opportunity to bring her background in media to residential real estate. Before becoming a realtorReische worked at CNN for many years.

“Having a career in media was great prep,” she says. “Both industries depend on good ideas and concepts, passion, and personality.”

Notwithstanding ever-improving technology, Reische is a firm believer that selling houses is all about understanding the motivation of buyers and sellers. “Realtors, as well as their clients, can easily get buried in technology, but the best way to sell is still by the traditional method — personal service.”

At Raveis, she says they are taking a more critical eye with each of their listings before putting them on the market. “Preparation of the visuals is more important than ever because today’s buyers are looking for perfection.”

Opening up the mindset of sellers is essential, she avers. “When a client decides it’s time to sell, we have to make sure we arrive at a reasonable price and position they are comfortable with, one that ensures a smooth path to negotiation.”

A certified coach and mentor as well as branch manager, Reische’s goal is to be “the glue that sticks those pieces together.” She adds, “I understand the challenges for agents. My philosophy is: Teach them to fish and they’ll feed forever.”
