The stars were aligned the evening of October 12 for SPRYE’s 12th annual Fallfest benefit, held at Shenorock Shore Club.
Dolores Eyler, board president of the non-profit and founder of The Rye Record, had more than a few words to say about the honoree, Robin Jovanovich, whom she hired in 1998 and has worked with since.
The honoree, in her remarks, said that the community need not worry how she’ll spend her impending retirement. “I just got word that the Speaker of the House position is still up for grabs, and if I get the vote of everyone in this room, as well as those down the hall or parking, I think I’ve got a shot!
At press time, however, as Jovanovich was thinking ahead to the Presidency – redecorating the White House and putting together her all-Rye and forever-SPRYE Cabinet – word came that someone had actually been voted in, and not removed, as Speaker!
