Big Ten Honors Former Garnet James McHugh
James McHugh, a member of Penn State’s Men’s Golf team, was named the winner of Penn State’s 2020 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
The Rye High grad made five starts for the Nittany Lions during the shortened 2019-20 season. In the season-opening Rod Myers Invitational Tournament at Duke University, he shared the honors as top finisher. He carded the tournament-low score of 215 and, in the final round, had his career-best round with a 2-under 70, including 13 birdies.
In March, the remainder of the Big Ten spring competition was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
