CEO Of The Osborn, Matthew Anderson Honored

                                                              Honored by Visiting Nurse Service Foundation at Annual Gala 

RYE, NY – May 16, 2019: Matthew Anderson, President & CEO of The Osborn, accepted the Distinguished Service Award at the Visiting Nurse Service of Westchester’s Foundation gala on May 15, 2019, at the Willow Ridge Country Club in Harrison, NY. The gala is the organization’s annual fundraiser to benefit home health care and community health education programs.

 

Mr. Anderson and The Osborn were chosen to receive the award because of their dedication to improving the lives of seniors in the community. Mr. Anderson, who has been at The Osborn for more than 20 years, is a highly regarded leader in the field of senior living and a key advocate for seniors in the region. Mr. Anderson is a fellow with LeadingAge, the national organization serving seniors, and a former coach of its Leadership Academy. He is also a former Board Member with its affiliate, LeadingAge NY, a member of Greenwich Hospital’s Community Advisory Committee, and a Trustee of the Rye Free Reading Room.

 

“This is a wonderful honor,” stated Mr. Anderson. “Having The Osborn recognized by VNS at their annual gala is high praise — the staff, administration and board of trustees are grateful for this award.”

 

The Osborn, one of the most prestigious senior living communities in the area, opened its doors in 1908 and, over the years, has expanded to include Independent Living, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing, Long Term Care, Short Term Rehab, Memory Care, as well as Home Care.

 

In addition to Mr. Anderson and The Osborn, two other organizations were also honored:  Aging in America, Inc., and Gera Looser, RN, from Westchester Care at Home.

 

According to Timothy P. Leddy, president and CEO of  Westchester Visiting   Nurse  Services Group, “The majority of our patients –    83 percent –  are 65 years or older. Honoring these dedicated individuals and organizations is a way for us to express our profound gratitude for the critical role they play in supporting our efforts to help the seniors in our care.”  Westchester Visiting  Nurse  Services Group is  the parent organization of  VNS Westchester, the VNSW Foundation, and Westchester Care at Home.

 

The Osborn is a private, non-profit, continuum of care community, founded in 1908 and based in Rye, New York. It offers Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, a Five-Star Skilled Nursing Facility, as well as In- and Outpatient Rehabilitation care. In addition to residential and healthcare services on its 56-acre campus, the organization provides home care in Westchester and Fairfield Counties through Osborn Home Care.
