October 2, 12, 17 

Education: A Bariatric Weight-Loss Surgery information session will be held at 6 via Zoom. Learn about the types of weight-loss surgeries and what to expect before, during, and after. 

October 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 

Nurse Is In: A Greenwich Hospital nurse will take your blood pressure and answer health questions at the Greenwich Library, Health Information Center from 11:45-1:30. 

October 3

Lecture: Greenwich Hospital’s Deepika Garg, MD, reproductive endocrinologist, will discuss “Why Am I Not Getting Pregnant?” from 5:30-6:30 via Zoom. Get information about the most common causes of infertility, treatment options and when to consider seeking help from a fertility specialist. Lecture: Smilow Cancer Hospital in Greenwich will present “Young Breast Cancer Survivor Lecture Series: Self-Care After Breast Cancer” at 5:30 via Zoom. For more information, contact Heather Studwell, oncology survivorship coordinator, at 475-240-8328.

Safety Event: Free car seat safety checks will be offered from 8-2 at West Putnam Medical Center, 500 W. Putnam Avenue. To make an appointment, call 203-200-KIDS or email carseats@nhh.org. 

October 18

Education: The Parkinson’s Support Group welcomes Greenwich Hospital’s Alexandra Conway, Ph.D., clinical psychologist, who will discuss “Anxiety, Depression and Parkinson’s” at Long Ridge Medical Center, Conference Room, 260 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, from 1:30-2:30. October 24 

Lecture: Greenwich Hospital’s Kavya Mekala, MD, endocrinologist, and Jessica Maloney, DPT, physical therapist, will talk about “Bone Health and You” from noon-1 via Zoom. Learn how to reduce the risk for fractures, with tips to keep bones strong and healthy to prevent osteoporosis.
